The Andover High School girls volleyball team will bring back its “Dig Pink” charity fundraiser when it hosts Central Catholic at 5 p.m. Friday in Dunn Gym.

The event to raise breast cancer awareness was started by former coach Jane Bergin, but has not been held since 2019 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Both teams will wear pink uniforms, and proceeds from two raffles, with proceeds going to nonprofits that fight breast cancer, including WeGotThis.org, which was started by an AHS graduate and cancer survivor.

In past years, the team has donated some of the money raised to Winchester Hospital and is also considering Dana Farber.

The pink, Massachusetts State Police Breast Cancer Awareness cruiser will also be parked outside of Dunn Gym.
