Andover is following up April’s Climate Summit with a kickoff for the development of the town’s Climate Action and Sustainability Plan on Monday.

You can pre-register for the virtual meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. on Dec. 12. Andover Sustainability and Energy Director Joyce Losick-Yang and other organizers are hoping 1,000 residents will listen in on the opening session.

“We need input from 1000 people in town, and that’s quite a lofty goal, but to get anywhere we need to do this together,” Losick-Yang said in an email. “This planning step will address transportation, buildings (existing and new), residential and commercial and governmental. This is truly an ‘all hands on deck’ effort.”

Representatives from Weston & Sampson, the town’s consultants on the project, will discuss the State’s Clean Energy and Climate Plan with attendees, leading to an effort help Andover set community-wide climate goals.
