The Andover Select Board set this year’s town-wide trick-or-treat hours for 5 to 7 on Oct. 31 at its meeting Monday.

The Town of Andover will also be holding its annual, downtown trick-or-treating again this year. The event runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27. Participating downtown businesses will be handing out treats during the event.

The Andover Coalition for Education’s 10th Annual Scarecrow Festival runs from Oct. 15-29 this year. To mark the 10th anniversary, ACE is hosting a Scarecrow Family Fest at Old Town Hall on Main Street on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2-5 p.m., with refreshments and kids’ activities.

Andover also offered safety reminders in a notice posted Thursday, including:

  • Wear well-fitting costumes. 
  • Stay in groups. 
  • Avoid dark homes. 
  • Remember to look both ways when crossing a street. 
  • Use flashlights and glowsticks for visibility. 
  • Examine all treats before eating anything.
