Andover Little League’s Under-12 team was eliminated from the Section 4 Tournament, losing 9-3 to eventual tournament champion Reading on Friday. After dropping Wednesday’s opener to defending state champion West Peabody, Andover fell to eventual runner up Gloucester, 6-3, on Thursday.

Reading went undefeated in the round-robin sectional tournament. Reading beat Gloucester 10-2 in Saturday’s championship game and moves on to face Pittsfield American, Middleboro and Wellesley for the state championship in Braintree next weekend.

Next weekend’s tournament will be followed by regional play, leading up to next month’s Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
