North Reading police charged a 39-year-old Andover woman with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury after a four-year-old riding a wagon was hit around 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 19.
North Reading police did not release the name of the woman, and Andover News does not publish the names of people who have been charged with misdemeanors.
The child was being pulled in a wagon by a parent along Lakeside Boulevard when the crash occurred. Police received multiple 911 calls reporting the hit-and-run. The child was taken to the hospital and has since been released.
North Reading police said the Andover woman turned herself in after police identified her as a suspect in the hit-and-run crash last week.
