Carolyn Fawcett will serve as the interim principal at Sanborn Elementary for the 2022-23 school year, Andover Public Schools Superintendent Magda Parvey said in a note to Sanborn families.
Fawcett, who has been the assistant principal at the school for the past two years, replaces Jason DiCarlo, who was named APS’s Executive Director for Elementary Instructional Operations after the end of the 2021-22 school year. Fawcett has spent her entire, 20-year career in education at Sanborn, starting as a special education teacher.
“With the new school year fast approaching, I believe it’s best to place Carolyn in this position for the 2022-23 school year to ensure continuity within the Sanborn community,” Parvey said. “We do anticipate a comprehensive search for a permanent principal position to be posted in the early spring of 2023.”
