I am writing to express my strong support for Sandis Wright, as he seeks re-election to the Andover School Committee. As a former resident of Andover, and current Chair of the Groton Dunstable Regional School Committee, I can attest to Sandis’ commitment to his role on the School Committee and the exceptional work that he has already done during his first term, including the adoption of district wide social emotional initiatives; the creation of the APS Staff Shout Out to recognize staff members for the critically important work that they do; helping to create a clear mission, vision and district values; conducting a security assessment of school facilities, and countless other initiatives and contributions.
Over the past several years, Sandis and I have consistently communicated about the many current challenges that exist in public education. These challenges exist across the Commonwealth, but Andover Public Schools, in particular, are facing many critical issues that must be addressed over the next few years. The Andover School Committee needs strong and experienced leadership to address the ongoing budgetary challenges while ensuring that Andover’s commitment to student achievement is not diminished and class sizes are kept at an optimal level. Sandis possesses this necessary experience and knowledge, as well as a genuine desire to ensure the safety, security and well-being of all students in the school district.
Sandis is a person who is truly committed to the town of Andover, and who has contributed countless hours of volunteer time on various boards and committees. He understands that in order to solve problems, multiple stakeholders must be engaged, and problem solving must be done through collaboration. Whether he is speaking with students, staff, parents or community members, Sandis takes the time to truly understand the concerns or issues at hand. He works hard to see issues from multiple perspectives, and then to find innovative solutions to problems.
Over the past few years, he has worked tirelessly to serve the Town of Andover on the School Committee, and it is with his continued leadership that APS will not just get through the challenges ahead, but will thrive. I support Sandis whole-heartedly and know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if he is re-elected, his knowledge, experience and leadership will continue to support and improve Andover Public Schools. On March 25th, please consider casting your vote for Sandis Wright for School Committee. Experience matters and Sandis is the leader that Andover needs. Polls are open 7am-8pm.
Sincerely,
Lacey McCabe
