Andover merchants will be decking the halls, offering specials and providing “merchant hospitality” this weekend for Downtown Andover’s annual Holiday Stroll and Gift Card Giveaway.
The event starts with the Holiday Stroll on Friday, while the Gift Card Giveaway runs Friday and Saturday. People who spend $100 or more at Andover restaurants, local retail stores and personal service establishments between 10 a.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday are eligible to receive a $25 Visa gift card. You can combine receipts from multiple purchase to reach the $100 threshold.
Gift cards will be available for pickup at Old Town Hall (20 Main Street) from 10 a.m. o 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll also receive an entry for $100 spent into a drawing for three, $1,000 Visa gift cards.
The Holiday Stroll is aimed at kicking off the giveaway. “Grab a friend and head to Andover’s Holiday Stroll which will kick off shopping for the Gift Card Giveaway. Enjoy merchant hospitality, special holiday promotion and the wide variety of Andover small businesses and restaurants,” the event description says.
The fun continues next weekend, with Andover’s annual Holiday Happenings on Dec. 9. There will be food vendors and horse-drawn carriage rides at Town Office (26 Bartlet Street), as well as carnival rides, photos with Santa from 5-7 p.m., entertainment and community groups on Main Street near Old Town Hall.
Additional events are planned at Andover Youth Center, leading up to the finale: a fireworks display at 8 p.m.
