Looking to fix your dog’s behavior or just figure out what makes him or her tick? Andover Animal Control may be able to help.

The department is hosting a talk on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Andover-based by Kimberly Palermo, a dog trainer and owner of BlueDog Academy. Palermo will explain how dogs learn and communicate, and demonstrate the best ways to communicate with your dog with the goal of improving behavior.

Palermo will have demonstration dog with her, but Andover Animal Control is stressing the talk is for people only. Please keep your own best friend at home that night.

“This talk is geared toward all dog owners, anyone planning to get a dog in the future, or simply someone looking to learn more about these wonderful animals we share our homes with!” Animal Control said on the Facebook event page. The talk will be held in the Andover Police Department training room at 32 North Main Street.

Palermo founded BlueDog in 2008 as a solo dog walker. The training facility at 19 Lupine Road opened in 2011.
