The driver of a box truck died after crashing into a stopped, roll-off dumpster truck on Interstate 495 southbound in Andover Thursday morning.
The crash was reported around 7:01 a.m. and caused extensive morning rush hour delays, according to Massachusetts State Police. The dumpster truck was stopped, waiting to merge onto the Interstate 93 on-ramp.
The driver of the box truck, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 28-year-old Brockton man driving the dumpster truck was uninjured and refused medical attention. The dumpster truck is owned by Graham Waste Srvices of Brockton.
