A.M. Briefing

4 Things To Know Today
  1. Expect delays if you're driving on Lowell Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today. A contractor for Eversource will be doing milling and paving work on Lowell Street between Greenwood Road and Lovejoy Road.
  2. The Andover Collection is partnering with Winter Walk Organization for a third straight year on a Clothing Drive. Customers can purchase items of $10 or more for $5. The items will be donated to the homeless through the Winter Walk Association. For more information see andovercollection.com and their organization at winterwalk.org.
  3. We have a late addition to this week's Andover News Calendar: Andover Public Schools will hold the Andover Vocal Music Gala at the Collins Center at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The gala includes performances feature all three middle school choirs, AHS Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, AHS A Capella, Nothing But Treble (alto/soprano show choir), Back to BASS-ics (tenor/bass show choir), and From Start to Finish (coed show choir). The event is free.
  4. We've taken the programmatic ads off of the Andover News Website after a one-month test. The miniscule revenue we were getting was not worth annoying our readers with non-local clutter. We will, however, continue to publish a limited number of ads from local businesses.
Weather: Partly cloudy, high of 44. Mostly cloudy tonight, with a low of 31. Wednesday will be warmer, but there's a 78 percent chance of rain tomorrow (compiled from the Weather Channel).
