4 Things To Know Today
  1. I apologize to anyone who showed up for publisher's office hours yesterday and learned that I had ghosted them. I had a minor family emergency and had to scrap them at the last minute. I rescheduled them for next Thursday, same time, same place. See the Facebook event listing for more details.
  2. There is a winter weather advisory in effect until 7 p.m. tonight in Andover and most other parts of Massachusetts, with the potential for up to three inches of snow. Be careful on the roads and see the full weekend forecast below.
  3. Andover police report a 38-year-old woman who was reported missing in the Baily Road area Thursday was found safe.
  4. The Andover High School Building Committee is offering drop-in tours of the existing school for Andover residents on Jan. 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Jan. 21 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. More info on tours. There is also a community forum scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. in the AHS cafeteria.
Sports: AHS wrestling beat Billerica 72-12 on Wednesday...In hockey, the AHS girls skated past Matignon 4-2 while the boys fell 6-0 to St. John's Prep on Wednesday...AHS girls basketball remained number one in the state in the Boston Globe rankings released Thursday.

Weather: There is a winter weather advisory in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, affecting most areas of Massachusetts, including Andover. Depending on temperatures and timing, we could see 1-3 inches of snow. Otherwise, the forecast is calling for rain and snow, with temps in the mid-thirties. There is a 90 percent chance of precipitation today. Partial clearing late tonight, low of 29. On Saturday, look for a mix of clouds and sun giving way to mostly cloudy skies later in the day. High of 42. Mostly sunny but cooler on Sunday, with a high of 37 (Weather Channel).
