Good morning, Andover! Here's your daily rundown of everything happening in town for Wednesday, Jan. 18, courtesy of Andover News.

A.M. Briefing

5 things to know today:
  1. According to the National Weather Service, Andover received 2.5 inches of snow in the Sunday-Monday snowstorm. We could see another 1-3 inches of snow on Friday.
  2. Election Update: There is a three-way race developing for two seats up for re-election on the Punchard Free School Board of Trustees, which distributes scholarships from the Punchard Free School Trust. Incumbents Donald F. Schroeder and Chip Gregory, as well as challenger William Walsh, have withdrawn nomination papers, which are due Feb. 7. The only other potential contested race is for moderator, with Keith Saxon having withdrawn papers and incumbent Sheila Doherty having returned her papers to run for reelection. So far, Select board member Laura M. Gregory and School Committee member Lauren M. Conoscenti -- both of whom have returned nomination papers -- are running unopposed.
  3. The deadline to register to vote in the March 28 town election is March 18. You can register to vote online or by visiting the Town Clerk’s office.
  4. Trash and recycling collection is delayed one day this week (Tuesday's pickup is today, Wednesday pickup in tomorrow, etc.).
  5. Andover Youth Service is running a MLK Service Week through Friday. Today there will be a trip to the Lawrence Food Pantry. Tomorrow there will be a Card Crafting for Humanity event, and Friday there will be a chance to volunteer for the One Wish Project (more info).
Sports: AHS boys hockey and Chelmsford skated to a 3-3 tie Monday, while the girls (6-2-1) topped Billerica/Chelmsford 2-1. Rose Memmolo had the game-winning goal...On Saturday, Charleston topped AHS boys basketball 56-54, Billerica beat AHS boys hockey 3-2 in overtime and AHS girls hockey beat Acton-Boxbrough/Bromfield 6-0...Haverhill defeated AHS boys swimming 92-84 on Friday...Also on Friday, Anna Foley scored 19 points and Kathleen Yates added 12 as top-ranked AHS girls basketball (9-0) defeated Central Catholic 55-43 (compiled from Boston Globe sports and other media reports).
