3 Things To Know Today:
  1. We're looking at dangerously cold temperatures from through Saturday night. There is a wind-chill watch in effect from 3 a.m. Friday until 1 p.m. Saturday, which could drop the "feels like" temperature to -35. Keep your pets safe, take precautions to prevent frozen pipes and avoid going outside for extended periods.
  2. The Friends of Memorial Hall Library Book Sale starts today and runs through Sunday.

Sports: AHS boys' basketball topped Tewksbury 69-53, while the girls improved to 14-0 with a 66-46 road win over Tewksbury....AHS girls' hockey (9-2-2) beat Methuen/Tewksbury 2-0 on Tuesday. The team moved up one spot to 7th in the Boston Globe rankings released Wednesday, and second-year coach Meagan Keefe and junior Rose Memmolo were mentioned in the newspaper's weekly notes column on Thursday (compiled from Boston Globe sports, AHS Athletic Department and other media reports).

Weather: Mostly sunny with a high of 39. Extreme cold moves in tonight, with a low of 15 and a few clouds developing later.
