  1. Today is an early-release day for Andover Public Schools. Andover High School and middle schools will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. and elementary schools will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
Sports: The winter sports season started with a win for Andover High School when the boys hockey team beat Thayer 1-0 Wednesday. Check the list of events below to see when and where other AHS teams kick off their seasons.

Weather: Sunny, cooler with a high of 44. Bundle up if you're heading to Holiday Happenings this evening: the temperature will be 41 when the events begin at 4 p.m. and fall to 33 by the time the fireworks show begins at 8 p.m. Cloudy on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid-30s (compiled from the Weather Channel).
