Andover Extends Cooling Center Hours Through Weekend

Thursday's rain isn't going to help cool things off in Andover, so the town has extended the Robb Center's hours so it can continue to serve as a cooling center.

Thursday’s rain isn’t going to help cool things off in Andover, so the town has extended the Robb Center’s hours so it can continue to serve as a cooling center.

The forecast is calling for highs of 96 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with lots of sun and less than a 10 percent chance of rain on each day. The town extended cooling center hours through Thursday earlier in the week.

- Thursday: Open until 8 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday: Noon – 7 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon- 7 p.m.
Andover officials are also recommending Memorial Hall Library as a place to get out of the heat. The library is open from 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm on Fridays and weekends.

Pomps Pond at 147 Abbot Street is open weekdays from noon to 7 pm and weekends from 10 am to 6 pm. We have additional information on Pomps Pond and other nearby places to go for a swim.
