That's what the front page of our "local" newspaper's Website looked like on Tuesday, five days into the Andover teachers' strike. A single, out-dated story about one of the biggest stories of the year.

Andover Patch finally reported a deal had been reached Wednesday morning. Andover News reported a deal had been reached and schools would reopen before Andover Public Schools did on Tuesday afternoon.

And while the reporters from Boston have left Town and moved onto the next ratings-driving story, Andover News is still here covering what the new contract means for teachers, students, and taxpayers.

Context and fairness matter. Treating newsmakers as people instead of sound bytes matters. Helping people better understand the place they live matters.

Local news matters.

And local news needs your help: Andover News needs more readers to survive. As a reader-supported news organization, Andover News needs people who are willing to pay for better news coverage. Andover News needs readers who want to see us grow and provide even more in-depth coverage of our town.
