Andover Fire Rescue personnel worked through the night Wednesday into Thursday fighting a brush fire in the Carmel Woods Reservation off High Street.

The cause of the fire, which was reportedly contained, remains under investigation. The fire comes as most of the state remains under a red flag warning because of dry, windy conditions. Andover instituted an outdoor burning ban earlier this month.

Andover Fire has been assisting other area towns in fighting brush fires, including North Andover where crews have been battling an 150-acre fire in Boxford State Forest for over a week.

Carmel Woods Reservation covers roughly 20 acres and is a popular spot for hiking and picnicking.
