Andover Select Board member Alex Vispoli will seek his eighth, three-year term in next year’s local election.

Vispoli, who was first elected to the board in 2004, and Melissa Danisch, the other board member up for reelection in 2025, have taken out nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s office, signaling their plans to run. Danisch is in her first term on the select board.

They will be challenged by George Thorlin, who placed last in this year’s four-way race for two open seats on the select board. Kevin Coffey and Ellen Townson won this year’s election.

A contested race is also shaping up for the two seats up for reelection on the school committee. Incumbents Emily DiCesaro and Sandis Wright have taken out nomination papers, as has Christopher Shepley, who finished last in this year’s five-way race for two open seats. Those seats were won by Shauna Murray and Lauren Diffenbach.

Sheila Doherty is also running for reelection as town moderator. So far, she is running unopposed.

Candidates have until Feb. 4 to return their nomination papers. The last day to register to vote for the March 25 election is March 15.
