Andover will mark the beginning of Pride Month with a car parade and community picnic on Sunday, June 1. The event, organized by South Church in Andover, is open to the public and designed to promote awareness, inclusion, and community engagement.
The day will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a car parade departing from 1 Dundee Park Drive. Participants are invited to decorate their vehicles before driving a designated route through downtown Andover. The parade ends at The Park on Bartlett Street, where a picnic and community gathering will follow from noon to 3 p.m.
The picnic will include live music, games, and family-friendly activities. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food or order from local restaurants, several of which are located near the park.
The Merrimack Valley YMCA Mobile Pantry will be present during the event to collect non-perishable food donations. Suggested items include canned vegetables, pasta, rice, and peanut butter. All donations will support local residents facing food insecurity.
Organizers say the event is intended to be a welcoming and inclusive space for all residents and visitors. Additional information is available at South Church’s website.
