A 41-year-old Andover man is facing drug distribution charges after an investigation by the Tewksbury Police Department.
Police said they arrested David Chomicz without incident around 8:35 p.m. Tuesday after he sold 9.8 grams of fentanyl in the area of Ames Hill Drive. In addition to finding $312 on Chomicz, they found a digital scale and drug-related paraphernalia during a search of his hotel room.
In a news release, Tewksbury police said Chomicz, who was charged with distribution of a class A substance (subsequent offense), was likely under the influence of drugs when he was arrested. He was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation before being returned to the Tewksbury Police Department.
Chomicz was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Lowell District Court.
