The Andover Police Department is changing the design of its police cruisers for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The new cruisers feature the new police department logo, which replaces the former Town seal that featured a Native American. Andover Police Chief Patrick Keefe said the initial response from members of the department and the public has been “quite positive.”

“We wanted something specific to Andover, incorporating our blue and gold colors,” Keefe said. “We were able to do this with the diagonal stripe.”

The department’s three new cruisers are sporting the new design. The design will be added to new vehicles as older cruisers are retired.
