Andover police are seeking an arrest warrant after identifying a suspect in last week’s carjacking in Shawsheen Square.
The department, which is also seeking search warrants in connection with the investigation, said it would not release the suspect’s name until he is arrested.
Police were called to the intersection of Route 133 and Route 28 in Shawsheen Square around 4:15 on Nov. 12. The victim told police the suspect pointed a gun at her and took off onto Interstate 495 north in her Acura SUV.
In a Facebook post, police said the suspect may have fired the gun used in the carjacking during a road rage incident with other people prior to the carjacking. Police are asking witnesses or others with information about either incident to call Andover police detectives at (978) 623-3550.
