Andover Public Schools plans to hire an outside school safety and security firm to review safety practices in all of its school buildings, according to a social media post the district shared Tuesday.
“APS recognizes the trust families place in us when sending their children to school each day,” the message said. “The recommendations of an outside security firm will inform us of additional best practices that may enhance the security of our buildings to ensure the safety of our students and staff.”
Other details were not immediately available, but the district said it planned to share a presentation on the initiative next fall.
