Andover WECAN is hosting the town’s second annual Youth Sustainability Fair from 1-3 p.m. at the Cormier Youth Center on April 26.
The goal of the youth-based and youth-led event is to increase engagement in local climate education and highlight youth-led work that is being done, all while promoting community building around environmentalism.
As part of the fair, Sidney’s Rainbows is holding a sports gear swap. Bring any new or gently used athletic gear that your family has outgrown, including equipment, shoes, bikes, scooters, clothing, balls, racquets, etc. Then, take home any new-to-you sports gear that your family can use now or in the future.

At the Youth Sustainability Fair, you will be able to talk to students from Greater Lawrence Technical School on their clean energy career pathways. You can talk to fifth grade students from West El’s Destination Imagination team on the solutions they’ve come up with to deal with Andover’s stormwater and flooding issues with the Shawsheen River. You can find out from the Pike students how sustainability is embedded in every grade at their school. There will also be a representative from Cooler Communities at the YSF. Cooler Communities’ mission is “connecting classroom learning to climate solutions.”
