The Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association named High Plain Elementary School Principal Pamela Lathrop its 2023 Principal of the Year.
“I share this honor with the entire High Plain and APS communities. I have been so fortunate to have worked alongside some truly talented people,” Lathrop said. “We have always been stronger together and committed to the success for our students.”
The bad news is this will be Lathrop’s 14th and final year in Andover.
Last month, Lathrop was chosen for an assistant superintendent’s job in North Andover, where she was a principal from 2002 to 2009 before taking the High Plains job at the start of the 2009-10 school year.
“Ms. Lathrop is a hands-on leader who is well-respected by her faculty for her responsiveness, compassion, collaboration, and dependability,” APS Superintendent Magda Parvey said in a statement. “We are so proud of her accomplishments; this recognition is welldeserved.”
