Andover voters will head to the polls on Nov. 5 — or sooner if they choose to vote early — to select the next president, as well as U.S. senator and rep and other statewide races. There are also five binding statewide ballot questions that will be decided in this year’s election.

The deadline to register to vote in the State General Election is Saturday, Oct. 26. The Andover Board of Registrars of Voters will hold extended hours on Saturday, Oct. 26th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Public Safety Center, 32 North Main Street

Residents may also register online by visiting: www.RegisterToVoteMA.com. To apply online, voters must use a license or an I.D. issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Additionally, mail-in voter registration forms or change of party forms must be postmarked by the Oct. 26th deadline.

Voters can check their voter registration status on the Secretary of State’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us or by calling the Town Clerk’s Office at (978) 623-8230.

Here’s what you need to know before you vote:

Polling locations for in-person voting on Nov. 5

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day.

  • Precincts 1 and 3 will vote at the Youth Center on Whittier Court.
  • Precincts 4, 4A, 5 and 6 will vote at the Wood Hill Middle School.
  • Precincts 2, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will vote at the Andover High School Richard J. Collins Field House on Shawsheen Road.

In person early voting

Voters have the option of voting Early in-person at the Town Offices on 36 Bartlet Street. This Early Voting location is for all voters of all precincts.

The in-person Early Voting days and times are as follows:

  • Friday, November 1st from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Saturday, October 19th from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Sunday, October 20th from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Monday, October 21st from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Tuesday, October 22nd from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Wednesday, October 23rd from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Thursday, October 24th from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Friday, October 25th from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Saturday, October 26th from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Sunday, October 27th from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Monday, October 28th from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Tuesday, October 29th from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Wednesday, October 30th from 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Thursday, October 31st from 8:30am-4:30pm

Voting By Mail

To vote Early by mail, voters need to (1) request a ballot by submitting an application, (2) receive the ballot from the Town Clerk’s Office, and (3) return the completed ballot to the Town Clerk’s Office.

Mail-in ballot applications are available on the Secretary of State’s website, on the Town website in downloadable form, and at the Andover Town Offices, 36 Bartlet Street, in the Town Clerk’s Office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Completed applications can be deposited in the secure box located outside the Town Offices along 36 Bartlet Street, or mailed to the Town Clerk’s Office at 36 Bartlet Street.

The deadlines to return your ballot are:

  • If returned directly to the Town Clerk’s Office, 36 Bartlet Street: 8 p.m., Nov. 5, 2024
  • If returned by domestic mail: 5 p.m. on Nov. 8, 2024 (must be postmarked by Election Day)
  • If returned by mail from outside the United States: 5 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2024 (must be postmarked by Election Day)

Voters cannot directly submit their ballots to polling locations on Election Day. Voters can track their mail-in ballot here.
