We are happy to write this letter to the editor in support of Sandis Wright for re-election to the Andover School Committee. Over the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside Sandis on several community initiatives and seen firsthand his dedication to serving others, his deep sense of responsibility to our schools, and his ability to bring people together for the greater good.

The learning curve for a new School Committee member is steep. As a current member of the Committee, Sandis understands and is up to speed on the current challenges and issues at hand and can hit the ground running, without needing extra time to learn the lay of the land. Re-electing him ensures we have a leader who can immediately keep Andover schools moving forward.

What sets Sandis apart is not just his experience, but his unwavering commitment to outcomes that benefit Andover students, families, and educators. He approaches conversations with an open mind, values different perspectives, and works to find solutions that bring people together rather than divide them. His positive energy and willingness to engage make him a leader that people respect and enjoy working with—qualities that are invaluable on the School Committee.

Andover’s schools are at an important moment, with key decisions ahead on issues like finalizing improvements to the Andover High School building, tackling budget pressures while maintaining reasonable class sizes, and Andover’s ongoing commitment to student achievement, well-being, and safety. We need someone with experience, integrity, and a true commitment to our schools. Sandis is that person.

We hope you’ll join us in voting for Sandis Wright for the Andover School Committee. Our students, teachers, families, and town will be better for it.

Sincerely,

Amy and Carter Holland
