Lockheed Martin will lay off 64 workers at its Andover laboratory by July 5, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining (WARN) Act notice filed with the Massachusetts Department of Career Services last week.
Lockheed Martin opened its Andover facility in 2020 to develop GridStar Flow, a long-duration battery for the clean energy sector. In 2022, Lockheed Martin received a contract to install the system at Fort Carson in Colorado.
Lockheed Martin’s Andover laboratory is located at 160 Dascomb Road.
