Andover police have been unable to find witnesses or suspects in what was described as a “large fight” where at least one person was injured at Greater Lawrence Technical High School last month, according to an incident report.
Most of the crowd had gone by the time police arrived at the high school at 6:41 on Oct. 27 following a football game against Cathedral High School.
A Cathedral High School football player, whose name was redacted in the incident report, told responding officers he was trying to leave when a group blocked the entrance to the parking lot. When the Cathedral student asked them to move, two men “began yelling at him and [attempted] to entice him into a fight.”
The incident report was turned over in response to a public records request from Andover News after Andover police did not respond to requests for comment. Greater Lawrence Tech Superintendent John Lavoie and Principal Susan Zielinski also did not respond to rquests for comment.
As fans and other members of the Cathedral football team approached, “a large group began fighting.” The player whose car was blocked refused medical treatment.
The report said police would attempt to view security footage.
“As of this time there are no suspects and no witnesses who could identify the parties involved, ” the police incident report said.
