Phillips Academy in Andover named the best private high school in America for the third straight year in rankings released by Niche Tuesday.
Andover Public Schools, meanwhile, were ranked 29th best out of 217 public school districts in Massachusetts. APS was also ranked 23 best for athletes and 34th best for teachers in Massachusetts.
Pittsburgh-based Niche’s rankings combine reviews from current students, alumni and parents with quantitative data, including test scores and U.S. Department of Education data to evaluate teachers, resources, facilities and extracurricular opportunities. This was the ninth year Niche has compiled its rankings.
The rankings also awarded letter grades to individual schools. All Andover schools received a grade of A except for Bancroft Elementary and Doherty Middle School, which each received an A-.
