The Essex County District Attorney’s office asked a Lawrence District Court judge to hold a level three sex offender with a history of peeking into dorm-room windows without bail after his latest arrest Friday.

Tyler Jacquard, 39, of Melrose, was charged with misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct after Merrimack College police found him looking through first-floor windows of a student dorm. Jacquard told police he was a student, then claimed he lived across Route 125 at the Royal Crest apartments. He then said he was trying to visit a friend.

Jacquard has been accused of similar crimes after being arrested on the campuses of Endicott College, Wellesley College, and Boston University. Prosecutors said at Jacquard’s arraignment Tuesday he is potentially facing a sexually dangerous person petition which could lead to a life sentence without parole.

“There has been no court, district court, or superior court here in the Commonwealth that has been able to curb this defendant’s behavior that he admits to in his own words,” Essex County Assistant District Attorney Alyssa Fournier said when Jacquard was arraigned at Lawrence District Court.

Jacquard was held on $7,500 bail. If he makes bail, he will be under house arrest and have to wear a GPS tracking anklet.
