The Andover Health Division regularly inspects restaurants, stores, schools, and other establishments that serve and sell food, and Andover News publishes the inspections reports monthly. It’s important to note it’s not unusual for a restaurant to have a few minor infractions in a report.

Restaurants
The Autograph, 89-93 Main Street, on Dec. 10
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:
- No vomit/diarrhea kit observed during inspection.
- Observed hand sink in cook line without paper towels. PIC corrected.
- Observed Quat sanitizer at dishwasher over 500ppm. PIC will contact company to adjust.
- Observed non-compliant straws and bar stirrers
Indulge India, 36-42 Park Street, on Dec. 3
Areas where establishment was out of compliance:
- Observed ice machine with grime
- Observed multiple prepared items in walk in without date marking
- Observed mice droppings in dry storage area and dead rodent in trap

Areas where establishment was out of compliance:
- All violations from previous inspection corrected.
LaRosa’s, 7 Barnard Street, on Dec. 3
Areas where establishment was out of compliance:
- Sanitizer tested at 0ppm. PIC replaced sanitizer buckets with new sanitizer.
- Ice bin at bar observed with accumulation of debris.
- Salmon tested at 56.5F. Cod tested at 52.5F. Both items stored in low boy were observed in the drawers located closest to the ovens. In conversation with PIC, items were placed in low boy last night. Unit was observed closed upon arrival for inspection. Temperature was rechecked 20 min after initial reading and remained the same. PIC voluntarily discarded items.
- Sanitizer bucket observed stored next to food prep surfaces and above open food. PIC removed bucket to shelf below.
- Faucet of counter handwashing sink observed loose.
- Employee restroom observed without a closed receptacle.
Otto Pizza, 27 Main Street, on Dec. 3
Areas where establishment was out of compliance:
- Accumulation of debris observed in ice machine.
- Non food grade chemical cleaner observed stored in food prep area. Label on spray bottle indicates product is scented bleach. PIC removed and placed in appropriate storage area.
- Employee items observed in food prep area. PIC removed item.
- Cooked items placed on the rack may be subject to potential splash contamination from handwashing. Discussed possible solutions with PIC.
- Choke save certificate observed expired in 2023.
- Allergen awareness certificate observed expired.
Perry’s Plate, 89-93 Main Street, on Dec. 18
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:
- Handwash sink observed blocked by crates in food prep area. PIC unblocked handwash sink.
- Revise asterisk on consumer advisory to include only food items that may be offered to be undercooked. Remove from children’s menu.
- Employee drinks observed stored in area where fruit was being cut for fruit cups. PIC removed drinks.
- Flour bag observed without cover, stored on shelf.
- Debris observed on wall above ware washing sink.
- Debris observed on floor in ware washing area.
Stores
Redstone Liquors, 89-93 Main Street, on Dec. 18
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:
- Vomit and diarrhea kit/procedure not available onsite during inspection.

Areas where establishment was out of compliance:
- Observed hand sink located next to ice bin without sufficient clearance for accessibility.

Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:
- Observed rodent droppings in dry storage area under cans holder.
- Observed no sanitizer upon arrival.
- Observed weatherstripping in back door worn out.
