The Andover Health Division regularly inspects restaurants, stores, schools, and other establishments that serve and sell food, and Andover News publishes the inspections reports monthly. It’s important to note it’s not unusual for a restaurant to have a few minor infractions in a report.

Restaurants

Akita Ramen, 199 North Main Street, on March 4
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed back door not properly sealed, with multiple entry points for pests.

Andiamo, 2 Minuteman, on March 26
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • None.

Chateau, 131 River Road, on March 26
Areas where establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed TMTC rodent droppings behind can rack and on bottom rack.
  • Observed FRP in walk in cooler, needs repair and cleaning.
  • Observed hand sink in prep area leaking.

Dunkin, 2 North Main Street, on March 26
Areas where establishment was out of compliance:

  • Cup with mixing spoon observed stored in handwash sink near donut case.
  • Trash can stored in front of handwash sink near donut case.
  • Sanitizer in red buckets observed at 0ppm.

Karma, 209 North Main Street, on March 27
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed veggies stored under raw chicken and lobster in walk in.

Kokoro Craft Udon, 12 Post Office, on March 4
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Repair floor so that it is sealed, cleanable, non-absorbent, does not allow water to pool. Flooring must be commercial grade material.

LaRosa, 7 Barnard Street, on March 5
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Pre-operation inspection post small fire in basement electrical panel. Deep cleaners were hired, front of the house, kitchen and bar areas were cleaned and sanitized. Prepared foods in front of house cabinet were disposed of, all other foods were transferred to refrigerated truck

Oak & Iron, 18 Red Spring Road, on March 14
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • None.

Thai Sweet Basil, 209 North Main Street, on March 4
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • None.

Tokyo Steak House, 560 South Main Street, on March 31
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Hand wash sinks must be accessible at all times. On inspection, hand wash sink was blocked.
  • Observed multiple boxes in freezer floor. All foods must be stored at least 6″ off floor at all times to protect from potential sources of contamination.
  • Observed Cutting boards heavily scored and no longer cleanable. Either resurface or replace.
  • Observed fans in walk in with dust accumulation.
  • Observed hood filters with grease accumulation.
  • Observed under grill with food debris.
  • Observed multiple double door refrigerator holding chicken, salmon and sauce for hibachi needing cleaning of dust/food debris.
  • Observed multiple hibachi stations with grease on bottom rack.
  • Observed man made plumbing, please discard and hire plumber to do plumbing.

UBurger, 89 Main Street, on March 31
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed non-compliant 2oz portion cups.
  • Observed hand sink next to prep sink in downstairs without paper towels.
  • Observed boxes of onions and potatoes on floor. All foods must be stored at least 6″ off floor at all times to protect from potential sources of contamination.
  • Observed dust debris on order monitor next to grill.

Stores

Barron’s Country Store, 429 Lowell Street, on March 26
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed hand sink blocked by two vacuum cleaners.
  • Observed marinara sauce in walk in dated 3/2/25, started to grow mold and smelly.
  • Observed both deli style refrigerator units needing a deep cleaning inside and fans.
  • Observed hood with dust and grease debris.

Schools, Churches & Daycare

Doherty Middle School, 50 Bartlet Street, on March 5
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed dust debris in hood grates.

Other Establishments

Corporate Cafe, 18 N.E. Business Center Drive, on March 27
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Thoroughly clean non-food contact surfaces to remove build up of debris/splash/grease.

Courtyard Marriott, 10 Campanelli Drive, on March 27
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed grease and food debris underneath grill.

Energy North, 139 River Road, on March 14
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Several containers of Italian dry salami prepackaged with use by date of 2/25/25 observed on shelf for sale.

Nexdine, 95 River Road, on March 27
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed ice machine with grime, needs cleaning.
  • Observed rodent droppings in dry storage area under oats and lentils.

Restaurant Depot, 146 Dascomb Road, on March 31
Areas where the establishment was out of compliance:

  • Observed leaking ceiling near eggs.
