The Andover Rotary Club opened nominations for its 2024 Citizens Who Care and Educator of the Year Gala event.

The event, which raises money for grants Rotary awards to local nonprofits, honors people who have contributed to the community through “extraordinary volunteer contributions. Those chosen exemplify what it means to be an ‘unsung hero’,” Andover Rotary said in a news release.

Established in 1996, Rotary’s Citizens Who Care & Educator of the Year is Andover’s longest running program honoring outstanding community volunteers.

The club accepting nominations online for the ten award recipients through the Jan. 15 deadline, or they can be emailed to greeleyj7@gmail.com. One award is reserved for a student at an Andover Public School. Send questions regarding Educator and Student of the year nominations to SteveFink73@icloud.com.

The club typically receives about 50 nominations each year. Nominees must live, work, or volunteer in Andover. The awards will be presented at the gala on May 9 at the Andover Country Club.
