Andover police say the suspect in a carjacking Tuesday may have fired a gun during a road rage incident earlier in the day.

Police were called to the intersection of Route 133 and Route 28 in Shawsheen Square around 4:15 Tuesday. The victim told police the suspect pointed a gun at her and took off onto Interstate 495 north in her Acura SUV, which was later reported stolen.

The victim was not hurt. A description of the suspect was not immediately available, although he was dressed in black and wearing a mask when he stole the car, according to scanner reports and the Andover police log.

In a Facebook post, police said the suspect may have fired the gun used in the carjacking during a road rage incident with other people prior to the carjacking. Police are asking witnesses or others with information about either incident to call Andover police detectives at (978) 623-3550.
