Hikers on a trail at the Deer Jump Reservation in Andover got a scare when they saw what appeared to be an alligator in the water.
Three officers responded after the hikers called Andover Animal Control. When they arrived, they found out it was a toy. The officers couldn’t help but laugh when they discovered the “realistic-looking” alligator was actually a cleverly placed toy meant to resemble the real thing.
“We retrieved and removed the toy to prevent others from having mini panic attacks while walking the trails, however this is a FABULOUS reminder as to why you should always keep your dog leashed,” Andover Animal Control said in a Facebook post.
