Federal prosecutors accused two men believed to be members of the Trinitarios gang in Lawrence with kidnapping an Andover man and holding him in a basement for three days in May 2024.
Isiah Medina, a/k/a “Ice”, 25 and Rodderith Peralta, a/k/a “Mago”, 26, both of Lawrence, will be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Boston next week on a charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Both are already in custody on unrelated state charges.
According to charging documents, Medina and Peralta were wearing law enforcement raid jackets when they burst into the victim’s apartment on May 5, 2024. Several neighbors called 911 as the victim, who was not identified, was pushed screaming into an SUV.
The victim was held for three days before being released in Lowell.
Medina was arrested in April 2025 on an unrelated state charge. Investigators searched his phone and found pictures and videos that appear to depict the victim wearing handcuffs in a basement. Investigators were able to identify Peralta’s hands in the video by matching a tattoo.
The charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and fines of $250,000.
Andover police were part of the multi-agency team that worked to close the case under the federal government’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.
