The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing unit helped Andover police and Andover Fire Rescue find an elderly Andover resident who wandered off from his home earlier this week.
The State Police K-9 and Drone Units also assisted in the search. Video from the State Police helicopter shows the man walking in a wooded area off of Blueberry Circle.
“I just watched him fall,” the pilot tells Andover police on the ground. “It looks like he’s having some balance issues. He’s flat on his back.”
The pilot then directs rescue workers on the ground to the man’s precise location. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for hypothermia.
