A.M. Briefing

1 Thing To Know Today:
  1. I'll be speaking the past, present and future of local news at the Robb Center tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. More than 2,500 local newspapers in the U.S. have closed since 2005, and the closures are continuing at a rate of about two per week. Corporate owners have gutted newsroom staffs at the surviving papers. I'll be talking about what this means for the communities like ours and independent efforts like Andover News to fill the void.
Weather
Thunderstorms in the morning, more widespread in the afternoon. High of 76. Clouds and scattered thunderstorms at night, low of 67.
