Town May Get Additional State Money For West El
|
|
|
The more than $14 million in borrowing special town meeting approved in December for cost overruns at the West Elementary and Shawsheen preschool may end up costing Andover significantly less than originally anticipated.

A.M. Briefing
- Be ready for detours downtown starting at 6 a.m. today, and possibly Monday if rain interrupts the work, as Andover paves of the DMCC Parking Lot (map and more info).
- The Town will do fire-flow testing beginning at 8 a.m. this morning in the area of 440 Federal Street (more info).
- Water will be shutdown on Clark Road from Andover Street to 38 Clark between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Drivers should expect detours and delays.

- Six Andover High School student athletes signed national letters of intent Thursday on the NCAA's national signing day. Haley Carver will play for the University of North Carolina's women's lacrosse team, while Claire Nelly will be swimming for the College of William and Mary. Macklin Gobiel is heading to Le Moyne College to play lacrosse, while John Paul Guinewill play lax at West Point. Matthew Johnson is also continuing his lacrosse career at Georgetown, and Brian McSweeney will play football at Bentley in Waltham.
