How Much Will The New Teachers' Contract Cost Andover?
|
|
|
|
When contract negotiations between the Andover School Committee and negotiators for the Andover Education Association in this month's teachers' strike, Andover Public Schools its latest offer would cost the town $9.6 million in total salaries over the life of the four-year contract, while the union's offer would cost the Town $15.1 million. In the end, the two sides split the difference to end the five-day strike.

- Today is an early release day for Andover Public Schools. Andover High and middle school students will be done for the day at 11:30 a.m. Elementary schools kids head home at 12:15 p.m. (more info).
- The following roads will be closed between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. tomorrow for the Feaster Five Road Race:
- Route 28 from Kenilworth to Wheeler/School. 2.
- Route 133 from Iceland to High Street.
- York, Balmoral, High, Chestnut, Summer, Washington, Bartlet, and Harding Streets.
- Elm from Elm Square. to Pine.
- Morton from Chestnut to Bartlet
- All streets that feed into Rt. 28 will be closed at Routet. 28 (Railroad, Stevens, etc.)
