  1. The branch and tree collection site at Pomps Pond the Town set up after last month's microburst is closing on Friday. Residents with permits can continue to drop off debris at the Bald Hill Compost Site (288 High Plain Road).
  2. Work on the Essex Street bridge started yesterday, and it may cause some changes to traffic patterns. Work begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. this week.

Today In Andover History
On this day in 1711, Rev. Samuel Phillips became the first minister of South Parish Church. Phillips, who later founded Phillips Exeter Academy and briefly served as the state's Lt. Governor, would remain pastor of the church until he died on June 5, 1771.
