While most of the elected and appointed officials who spoke Wednesday staked positions firmly in support of the project, residents who spoke during the public comment period expressed sticker shock at the $451.5 million proposal -- even when they believed Andover needs a new high school.

Things To Know Today
  1. Today is an early release day for Andover Public Schools. Andover High and middle school students will be done for the day at 11:30 a.m. Elementary school kids head home at 12:15 p.m. (more info).

Sports
  • AHS field hockey improved to 11-2 with a 5-0 win over Methuen Wednesday. The Warriors finish out the regular season with a home game against Central Catholic on Monday and a road game at Chelmsford on Wednesday.
  • Seventh-ranked AHS girls' volleyball (14-2) beat Chelmsford 3-1 behind Jessie Wang's 20 kills and four aces. Claudia Viera added seven kills and two blocks.
