This Day In Andover History
Hannah Ann Chandler, the wife of Capt. Thomas Chandler, died at the age of 87 on Oct. 24, 1717. Capt. Chandler was one of the founders and original lot holder of Andover. The couple had eight children, including Hannah, born in 1659, who would be an accuser during the Salem Witch trials. The Chandler's third-oldest child claimed widow Mary Parker of Andover afflicted her on several occasions by torment and torture in 1692.
