Things To Know Today
  1. The Andover Youth Services Skatefest is Saturday after being rained out last weekend. The free event runs from noon to 5 p.m. at the Andover Skate Park (more info).
This Day In Andover History
On Oct. 25, 1918, the Andover Townsman reported on local efforts to "kill the Influenza." Andover soldiers were called to the Emery Base Hospital in Lawrence for guard duty as the Spanish Flu raged through the U.S. "Major Charles E. Durant of the State Guard Medical Corps, who is a noted surgeon of Haverhill, said that this was an excellent company, and his praise is valuable," the newspaper reported.

  • Seventh-ranked AHS girls' volleyball improved to 16-2 behind Jessie Wang's 17 kills in a 3-0 win over Methuen Monday.
  • AHS field hockey was a 5-1 winner over Central Catholic Monday.
