At least five people were transported to area hospitals following an early-morning crash on Interstate 495 in Andover Wednesday.
The three-car crash was reported around 5:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway near the Interstate 93 interchange. In addition to Andover, rescue crews from Methuen, North Andover, North Reading, and Tewksbury were called to the scene. All of the victims were taken to Lawrence General Hospital, according to scanner reports.
Other details were not immediately available Wednesday morning.
