Fundraiser for hiker’s family: More than $41,000 had been donated as of Thursday morning in a GoFundMe campaign set up for the family of Xi Chen, the 53-year-old Andover man who died after being overcome with hypothermia while hiking in the White Mountains this past weekend.
Meet the candidates: Greater Andover Indivisible is hosting a forum Tuesday where you can meet the candidates for Essex County Sheriff and District Attorney. Sheriff candidates Kevin Coppinger and Virginia Leigh will join DA candidates James O’Shea and Paul Tucker at Christ Church, 33 Central Street, Andover from 5:30 to 7 pm.

Weekend pick: The West Parish Church will hold its annual yard sale from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday at 129 Reservation Road. Items for sale include housewares, electronics, toys, games, decorations, clothing, tools, furniture, antiques and collectibles, books, jewelry, and holiday items. Proceeds will be used for college scholarships for members of the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence.
