Andover averted canceling this year’s Jerry Silverman Fourth of July Fireworks show, a real possibility after a Town Meeting amendment passed requiring the Town to use biodegradable fireworks.
That means this year’s Fourth of July holiday will look much like Andover’s past celebrations. This post will be updated through July 4 with more details and additional events.

Here’s the schedule of events so far for this year:

9:20 pm: Jerry Silverman Fireworks (POSTPONED)
Tuesday, July 4
8:30 am: Pancake Breakfast at the Robb Center
10:30 am: Fourth of July Spirit Parade
11 am: Celebration In The Park at the gazebo in The Park at the corner of Chestnut & Bartlet Streets
Thursday, July 6
9:20 pm: Jerry Silverman Fireworks (RESCHEDULED)

Hi Dave, Please use the official designation of the Jerry Silverman Fourth of July Fireworks. The event is part of the late-resident’s life-time work in the Town and in 2009, it was memorialized with his name [as you noted in an earlier news story]. Use the accurate naming every time… Andover’s Jerry Silverman Fourth of July Fireworks.
Fixed. As an FYI, Town of Andover’s Website is not using the official title.
