Thanks for the updated logs. Greenwood seems to have been a priority for speed enforcement last week. Tewksbury Street and Ballardvale remain under-enforced? Why? News articles and SB meetings dating back 20+ years indicate that Tewksbury Street is a public way where vehicles, commercial and private, speed.

Dave, do you know if this result in a traffic citation?
Thank you, Dave, for sharing the ‘log’ and details. North Main Street was the #1 location of citations. Anecdotally, and without documented evidence, I can confirm that North Main has been a primary location for traffic stops for several decades. I’ve traveled that route since the 1960’s, and know personally of traffic stops there. North Main is NOT a recently designated 25 mph zone. River Road was the #2 location. This has been a prime location at least since the 1980’s when housing and commercial development blossomed. See the Andover Townsman from that era for several citizen concerns regarding high speeds. River Road, also, is NOT a recently designated 25 mph zone. #3 on the list was Greenwood Rd, where residents have also voiced concerns of speeding vehicles. Greenwood is a largely a Thickly Settled District. Wonderful to see enforcement on that road where residents have few other places to walk/run, or bike. Greenwood also connects several conservation and AVIS trails. Kudos! What we do NOT SEE is enforcement at Elm Square. What we do NOT SEE is enforcement on Summer Street; as I’ve previously identified, NOT SEE on Tewksbury Street. These three aforementioned streets are entirely residential; Tewksbury Street includes the BVD Historic District where homes are nowhere near current required setbacks from the road. Whatever Road Engineers may say about permissible speeds, Historic Homes on Tewksbury Street are approximately 10 – 15 feet from the road. This indicates a high need for calming methods.
